J M G Plamondon was a French-Canadian pilot from Quebec City. Plamondon took over as the Commanding Officer (S/L) of 193 Squadron RAF on 25 August 1944 and remained there until he completed his tour of ops in November 1944. He had previously served, briefly, as the Flight Commander of 'A' Flight in 197 Squadron RAF from 19 July to 25 August 1944. Prior to that he served with 198 Squadron RAF. All three squadrons were equipped with Typhoons.The photograph dates from his time as CO 193 Squadron in late 1944. He earned the DFC with bar. His nickname was 'Plum'.
